Obituary of Edna Lorene Epperson
Edna Lorene Epperson died peacefully on May 5, 2024. She was 90 years old. She was the daughter of the late Francis Kincaid Schuster and Elmer Schuster of Blackwater, MO. Edna was the second youngest of 13 children.
Edna graduated from Marshall High School and then Secretarial School. She married Marvin Gene Epperson in 1956. Marvin and Edna lived an adventurous life as Marvin worked all over Southeast Asia. Marvin and Edna had three daughters while they were abroad. Edna enjoyed traveling with her family, working at her daughters' schools, golfing, and meeting new people. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished friend. After Marvin and Edna moved back to the United States, they built a career at Arrowhead Business Machines. It was a welcome move so they could be closer to family. They had a wonderful group of friends in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and enjoyed season tickets to the Chiefs. They were fortunate to retire in 1992 and went to Florida to enjoy golf and boating. They met many friends and were able to celebrate life on the water. For many, Florida was a destination place, and Edna welcomed them all into their home. They visited Sherrills Ford, North Carolina, from Florida to enjoy lake life. There, they met many lifetime friends and enjoyed Friday night dinners with a group of 12 plus friends.
After Marvin passed, Edna moved to The Woodlands, TX, to be closer to her daughters. Edna enjoyed Sunday night dinners and family holidays right up until the end.
Edna's warm hospitality, culinary skills, and knack for entertaining were legendary. Her willingness to lend a helping hand and her ability to make everyone feel loved were qualities that endeared her to all who knew her.
Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin, eight brothers, and four sisters. She is survived by her three daughters. Tracy and Art Curtis, Kim and Dave Walsh, and Dana Kline. 6 Grandchildren, Drew, Connor, Taylor, Tripp, Lexi, and Brittany, 20 nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog Pixie.
A celebration of Edna’s life, a testament to her vibrant spirit and the love she shared, will be held this summer in Marshall, Missouri. This gathering will be a time for family, friends, and acquaintances to unite, share memories, and honor Edna's life.
