I recently learned of Dr George's passing. He was an inspiration and a mentor to me in my younger days.
He taught me many things about life, that to this day, I remember and keep dear to my heart. He had a kind and loving soul and I am so sorry for our loss.

Dear Mrs. George and Family,
I am so sorry you lost your dear husband and father. I met Dr. George when I worked at Memorial Southeast Hospital. He was a wonderful doctor who was so kind to his patients and the staff. He never seemed to be in a bad mood. But we were also neighbors and had a mutual dear friend Doti Sawyer (remember the beer bread and cream pies?). You lived in Bay Oaks and John and I were nearby in Bay Forest. We helped you with protecting your plumbing during a freeze one winter. One Christmas Eve when I was working at the hospital and my husband was home splitting logs a piece of metal broke off the wedge he was using and it traveled through 2 sweatshirts and hit an artery. A friend brought him to the hospital and you treated John. You had to cut into his skin to find the sliver of metal, remove it and suture him back up. We were so grateful you were available to help us.
I wish I had known you were living in Katy and we also live in Katy now. It would have been nice to visit with you once again. We left the Clear Lake area to live overseas for 13years for John's work and when we returned we relocated to Katy and sold our house in Clear Lake. Your children were so handsome and lovely and I am sure they all have families of their own now and are successful. I will cherish my fond memories. Rest in peace dear Dr. George.
Sincerely,
Nancy and John Rebeck

Dear Nancy and John, thank you so very much for your wonderful memories of my father. I was with him that winter when the pipes froze and Dad was generous enough to get us two rooms at the Clearlake Hilton until we got water back. My brothers and I used to help him do his rounds every weekend at the Memorial Southeast hospital. Nothing made us more proud to watch him caring for his patients with so much empathy and true caring. We hope to keep his legacy alive.

Thank you Frank for your very thoughtful note. I remember visiting your deli near Hobby airport and loved looking at all the photos on your wall from your ski vacations. After we would accompany dad for his rounds, we always asked to go to Mandola’s deli and I loved watching how you both interacted.

I have known Eddie for 65 years. It began at Dalhousie Medical School when he was on the next anatomy table. I got to know him then as a funny guy, and he was affectionately known as the class comedian.
Shortly after emigrating from Canada in 1983, I was standing in line at a Mexican restaurant in S.W. Houston, I thought that I had heard someone shout my name. Yet, I thought that could not have been possible as I did not know anyone in Houston at the time. I did. Eddie George had recognized me among the crowd some twenty years after medical school. It reignited our friendship.
Eddie was very funny, witty, and mischievous, and lived life fully. He was a kind, caring and compassionate person. He was a good and loyal friend.
I am so sorry to hear of Eddie's passing and extend my sincere condolences to Kathy and the family.
