June Marie Kollar (née Babcock), a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and dedicated educator, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 15th, 2024, in Houston, Texas.

June was born on November 14th, 1948, in Queens, NY, to Helen and Walter Babcock. She lived a life filled with faith, love, and a deep commitment to nurturing the minds and spirits of those around her.

June was the eldest of four children and cherished her role as a sister to her brothers, Walter and Scott, and her sister, Suanne.

June was married on April 11th, 1970, in Babylon, NY, to her high school sweetheart, Joseph Kollar, with whom she shared 54 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they raised three devoted sons: Joseph Jr. (Kasey), David (Jaclyn), and Jeffrey (Katherine). June’s legacy lives on through her cherished Grandjoys: Joseph III, Reese, James, Matthew, Bailey, Ella, JD, Claire, and her great-grandchild Brailynn, who brought immense joy to her life.

For 35 years, June devoted herself to educating young minds as a Catholic school teacher. She was a cherished member of the faculties at St. Jerome, St. Ambrose, The Regis School, and Saint John Paul II. Her passion for teaching and her unwavering dedication impacted countless students, shaping their futures and instilling in them the values of faith, knowledge, and compassion.

Her strong Catholic faith guided June’s life, which she embodied in her daily life and work. Her commitment to her faith and family was evident to everyone who knew her. She found great joy in bringing her loved ones together and celebrating the bonds that held them close.

June’s warmth, kindness, and steadfast dedication will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the many students whose lives she touched. Her legacy of love and education will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
