Obituary of Carrie Galkowski

Carrie Galkowski, born January 31, 1962, in New Brunswick, NJ to John Lukacsko and Laura Kwarta, passed away at the age of 62 on Thursday, September 12, 2024, in Houston, TX.

She is survived by Ray Galkowski, her husband of over 39 years; her son and former Army Captain Alexander Roman Galkowski (31); and her son Christian Julius Galkowski (30).

Carrie graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1980 and had successfully completed over 80 college credits at three universities but was primarily a full-time mom once her sons were born, which was a vocation that she took seriously. Carrie was a diligent overseer of her sons’ secular and religious educations in Princeton Junction, NJ. She held schools to account if they tried to introduce non-traditional ideas in their classroom. She was formerly a Contract Administrator working for DHL International in the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York City.  Carrie and Ray moved to The Club at Ibis in West Palm Beach in 2014 and to Houston, TX in 2022.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 3617 Milam Street, Houston, TX 77002.

The Rite of Inurnment will follow at a later date at St. Paul’s Columbarium in Houston.
