Obituary of Mounif Ceasar Najjar
Mounif Ceasar Najjar, born September 19, 1945, in Darchmezzine, Lebanon to Ceasar and Tesbina Najjar, passed away on Sunday September 29, 2024 in Cypress, Texas.
Mounif was the beloved husband of Rosellyn (Donat) Najjar, and father of Michelle (Najjar) Sawtelle, and her husband Kevin. He was a devoted grandfather (“Jido”) to Hannah and Leah Sawtelle. He was the loving brother of Khalil Najjar (deceased) and wife Josette, Hanaa (Najjar) Bouchahine (deceased) and husband Michel (deceased), Souad (Najjar) Shackleford and her husband Posey, Mounzer Najjar and his wife Marianna, and Marcel Najjar and his wife Randa (deceased). He was cherished by immediate nieces and nephews Nicholas Bouchahine, Bassam Bouchahine, Mona (Bouchahine) Dayoub, Marcel Najjar, Albena (Najjar) Khoury, Kaissar Najjar, Tina (Najjar) Chouity, Ayman Najjar and Joey Najjar. He was also loved by many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends throughout the world.
Mounif was a proud graduate of the University of Texas having received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1974 and an honored alumni member of the Texas Exes Foundation. He attended almost every University of Texas football game in person and watched them on television when he could no longer attend. He worked as a Professional Engineer for numerous renowned companies for over 36 years before retiring in Cypress, Texas. He was an avid golfer and businessman with a strong devotion to his family, friends, and the Greek Orthodox church. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
A viewing to honor Mounif will be held on Saturday October 5, 2024 at 10:00 am followed by funeral service from 10:30-11:30 am at St. George Orthodox Church, 5311 Mercer St., Houston, TX 77005. Condolences will be accepted directly after service where there will be a meal of mercy served. Burial follows at 1:30 pm at Forest Park Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Rd., Houston, TX 77077

A funeral service for Mr. Mounif Najjar will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 5, 2024, at St. George Christian Orthodox Church, 5311 Mercer in Houston, Texas. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
