"Hi Margaret,
I had the pleasure of knowing Richard he was the best boss I ever had. I will forever appreciate him letting me bring two toddlers to work when I didn't have a sitter. He would also pay me when I had to stay home with them when they were sick.
I loved the honey he shared with me and he loved the eggs I gave him. I told him it was a fair trade. He loved my hens eggs. We did this trade for years. He loved everyone and trusted everyone. I'm forever grateful to have known such a wonderful person. I loved his stories. When my daughter was diagnosed with type one diabetes I was devastated and a total mess. I came and talked to Richard and he helped see everything different . He told me he would rather have his son with diabetes than not to have him at all. He told me about his neighbor in England that had type one diabetes and he lived through his 90s. He told me not to fear for my baby's live. He showed me that I really should have been focusing on the positive. My husband and I love visiting him and knowing so many different things that we didn't know before . We miss him a lot and are very sorry that he is gone. He was a very special human being."

"To the Richard Ling Family -
I am so sorry to learn of the tragic loss of Richard. My prayers go out to Richard's family. I first became acquainted with him when he worked for IBM and I was his client, with Tenneco. I found Richard to be a person of the highest character, professionalism and ethical standards. You could depend on what he told you. He was also fun to be around, with an interest in so many things. Richard had genuine concern for people and had a great passion for life, through the good and bad times. After I left Tenneco and he left IBM, we (with another IBM ex - Claud Payne) all continued a close friendship. We enjoyed many enjoyable and meaningful times together, from lunches to the Houston Marathon, to email jokes, to kidding me about my Navy service - just great conversations. We enjoyed listening to Richard's plans to ship Texas peaches to England, and we shared his grief on the loss of Benjamin. Richard was kind, generous and a wonderful human being - he will be deeply missed. Richard was truly a renaissance man!"

"I am quite limited in English language, but also in Spanish I cannot find the exactly word that express how thankful and glad I had met him.
Mr Richard was and is a person always will be in my memory and heart as the excellent friend, boss and human being. With his big smile and kind heart he inspired me every day. He just not encouraged me with his hardworking, enthusiasm, kindness and sense of humor to overcome adversities, his existence allowed me to know that good people not just exist in books and movie, he was a proof that they are also in the world."
