"My sincere condolences Harriet, and to all the family, on Gil's passing. He was a man of all seasons. He possessed everything a man could wish for because he was a very caring, considerate and compassionate person. He will be missed by many.

"I realize that these condolences are meant for Gil, however, I would be remiss if I didn't speak of my Uncle Gil's one and only daughter, Caren Gertner Fritts. Caren has, for years, been Gil's guardian angel. In times of great need, or just for no reason at all, Caren knew when to call him and when to be with him. Caren just KNEW..with her never wavering senses. As Uncle Gil was requiring more and more medical care, there was Caren, taking him to appointments and communicating his needs to doctors, nurse, and all the medical professionals who were helping him. Uncle Gil so often would throw Caren's name into a sentence..."Caren took me here", or Caren takes care of me...Caren and Harriet, what would I do without them.".
Caren, you were the sparkle in your Dad's eyes, and you were the common sense that propelled him to stay at home with his love Harriet
for so long.
Caren, you sat with your Dad all day and all night in the hospital holding him, talking to him, and most importantly, loving and advocating for him. Without you, life would've been much more difficult for him. Caren, from where I stand, you truly were your Dad's guardian angel. He loved you with all his heart and soul.
Thank you, CG..."

"I met Gil more than 30 years ago at his office located on Post Oak Blvd. home of several his companies; Stuart James Investments, Gertner, Aaron and Ledet I don't remember now what lead me to his office but after a few minutes of waiting he received me. Gil was immaculately dressed sitting behind his desk, from the very beginning his was very professional and most importantly a gentleman. He took his time to hear what I had to say with patience, we developed a personal and business relationship lasting more than 30 years.
He always had time for me whether responding to my many e-mails, telephones calls or personal visits to his home. Gil had an extraordinary very detailed mind remembering telephone numbers, dates, and events past and present.
Gil was an exceptional, kind and generous human being, I spent many hours with him discussing business deals, current events, his family and his jokes that were unending.
Gil was a true friend. I loved him and will never, ever forget him.
To Harriet, Lance, Caren, Edward and the entire family please accept my deepest condolences, Gil is gone in body but not in spirit may he rest in eternal peace."
