Obituary of Daniel Paul Fike
Daniel Paul Fike, age 67, born October 2, 1949 in Harvey, Illinois to the late Sandra and Edward Fike, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2017 in Houston, Texas.
Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Regina “Reggie” Fike; children, Stacey Fike, Patrick Fike and his wife, Julie, Julie Fike-Wild and her husband, Craigan; grandchildren, Dillan, Sadie, Carson, Ava, and Caleb; sister, Jennifer Graff (Fike) and her husband, Sam; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Daniel is a U.S. Army Combat Veteran of Vietnam. He spent 38 years in law enforcement and retired from the Houston Police Department in 2008. He was awarded two Life Saving Awards from the Houston Police Department.
Daniel was a life-long Chicago Cubs fan, as well as Chicago Blackhawks. Daniel was also actively involved in the Houston Police VFW Post 6010 as a Junior Vice Commander and served on the executive committee for the Fraternal Order of Police Officers – Houston Chapter.
A viewing and visitation will be from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 11, 2017. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 12, 2017. Both services will be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 4213 Mangum Road in Houston, Texas.
The Rite of Committal will follow at Houston National Cemetery and a reception with the family will follow the interment.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VFW Post 6010 and/or the Assist the Officer Houston Foundation.
