"Camille and to all of Hal's family, I wanted to extend this small token of my affection and sympathy for the loss of your wonderful husband, father, grandfather and son, as well as my life-long friend, Hal. We were friends since he and I lived in Montgomery Alabama in the '60's. As twists of fate in life would have it, we both moved to Fort Walton Beach Florida where our friendship continued and grew throughout high school. Most all of my memories, especially the most fun and sometimes borderline reckless ones, through the high school years involve him in one way or another. Even though after high school our lives took us in different directions, we somehow maintained contact with one another, particularly over the last decade or so. When I was young, someone once told me that at the end of your life if you can count the number of "true" friends on one hand; then, you have lived a blessed life. Well, without reservation Hal was, and always will be, one of those for me. As all of you already know, he was a special fella' and he will be greatly missed. Rhonda and I will keep you in our prayers."

I am so sorry for your loss of Hal. I just happen to find out when searching the internet. It is a shock to here that he has passed. He was a good friend through high school and some years after. Life sent me out of touch with ya'll. I am so glad he knew the Lord. I will see him again when it is my time. Ya'll are in my prayers."

"Our prayers and hearts go out to those Hal left behind. Death is not the end, but it can be a difficult beginning for loved ones on this side of the veil. We look forward to future reunions and pray for strength to endure in peace through the atonement of our Savoir, Jesus Christ, who knows all pain. You are loved and thought of by heaven and angels. God bless you. -Isaiah and Amanda Owings"

"Hal gave me some of the best material for jokes, even corny, I loved them and have told them over and over again. His batman scene was a sure winner in a crowd. His whindup laughter could send you into heterics everytime. Hal was a person who always made sure to greet you no matter where you were or what was going on. I loved him like a true bother and was grateful for the love he gave my sister, Camille. Will miss him sorely...Cynthia"
