Jackie and her husband Tom were tremendous and consistent Houston First Baptist Church leaders and mentors for multiple generations. Jackie especially influenced girls and young ladies by her demeanor, charisma, and Christian witness. When I first met my wife-to-be (Judy, now deceased) at First Baptist Church, she told me of how interesting, entertaining and powerful Jackie was as the church’s college department girls’ Sunday School Teacher, and the positive role Jackie had in her decision to join First Baptist. Hence, by enabling my opportunity to meet my wife of many years, Jackie’s service also significantly affected my life with joy and blessings.
