I’m so sorry to hear about Vern. We just learned of this tonight. Vern was always a nice person to talk to. We especially loved chatting about HOUSTON sports teams. I am very sad to not see Vern again. I wish his family and friends the best. God bless!

To the family of Vern Cason,
I'm terribly sorry for your loss! I just heard about it this morning! Vern was such a great guy! A friend to everyone. I met Vern back in the 1990's, about 25 years ago, at Café Express. I moved away from Houston in 2003; however, I stayed in touch with Vern and visited him many times whenever I came to Houston. We went to some Texans road games. He left this world way too soon! I offer my condolences to his family, most especially his son Colin.
I heard that there will be a get together in Houston in early June for friends of Vern. I'll be there.
God Bless All of You. May Vern Rest in Peace and May God's Perpetual Light Shine Upon Him.

Vern and I worked together back in the early 80's at Leopold Price & Rolle. Vern was a member of my wedding party when I married my first wife, Bobette, in 1983. Vern was such a character. Always joking around. He was full of energy. He will be sorely missed.

Vernon will be sorely missed.
Always a champion for workers, Vernon was an HSE compliance leader in the energy sector. He was a safety driver who pushed for thoughtful incorporation of safety education and compliance for all workers (temporary, seasonal, and full time).
Once Vernon became your friend, you were richly blessed with a confidante, advisor, and family member. He loved helping people create and achieve their goals in employment and overall livelihood.

I am so sorry to hear about Vernon's death. I went to Northwestern with him. Since I commuted to school, I'd hang out in the student union between classes. I'd be sitting, watching folks stroll through the lobby when Vernon, Clyde Roque, Chris LaCour, Henry Metoyer, and other students would come through and talk for a while. Vernon had the prettiest eyes ever. I don't think I've seen him since our days at Northwestern, but I would periodically get updates on him from my friends Henry Metoyer and Pam Rachal Cockell. He will be missed.
