I met Ralph when we were attending Southwest Texas State University. He had many, many good friends in San Marcos during those days (including myself). Everyone liked Ralph, he was just such a likable person. One of the things he really enjoyed was making people laugh, which he was very good at. He enjoyed making people happy and seeing his friends happy. I am very happy that we reunited in recent years after many years of being out of contact. He was a wonderful person and will be deeply missed by all those people whose lives he touched.

Sorry to hear of Ralph's passing. He and I were always good friends since the early days of high school. We had many good times together and some not so good but remained friends through thick and thin. I will miss our talks, whether he called me or vice versa, he would always open the conversation with "where's the beer?" (long story). All our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Ralph was our Senior President in those days Class of '67. He made us all smile. At our 10th high school reunion he invited everyone to an after party and almost put his hair on fire while lighting a cigarette during his talk.... He left good memories behind. His parents were good friends of mine.

Ralph the believer, Ralph the strong and entertaining one, Ralph the hard working one! Yes, you had sometimes some strange stories to share, so I should perhaps add: Ralph the story teller! And now we should go on without you? I have hard times to imagine Sylvia suddenly without you. She has also an Austrian soul in her chest, yes, that’s a fact, but the ties to you were always stronger and I could see and enjoy the harmony between you too. Now the journey of your life together is over - at least, as far as I can tell from my perspective - but I will always remember you with a smile thinking of the good time you had with her and also with people like me (and our son Hans who got the first taste of real work, I should say, good work, sorting filters etc under your guidance). You will be very much missed, Ralph, also by me.

I knew Ralph since he and Sylvia became a pair. I liked him very much, especially his sense of humor and story-telling ability. He was always in a good mood and was very good company. Ralph gave Hans his start in working by giving him his first job, appropriately, sorting nuts and bolts! We miss Ralph, we miss his company.

I only met Ralph on a few occasions, but I learned from those encounters I wished life had presented us with more time to know each other better. He was a believer and enthusiastically shared his faith with me. His faith strengthen mine and I know that he is in paradise with our Lord. He will be greatly missed!
