I want to thank you for offering some of Sylvia’s books to me through “Sylvia’s Final Donation.” I’m an educator and a writer, and I was at a meeting at First Congregation, where I saw tables of books for people to take. As I perused , I got so excited and intrigued with the woman to whom these books had belonged. I ended up taking a whole box home to my place in the Houston Heights. I’m glad to know that these books have migrated to a part of Houston where Sylvia was at home while alive. My deepest sympathies to you all for the loss of her. From her books alone, I’m certain that she was a remarkable woman.

Sylvia had a profound and deep wonderfully positive effect on my life and hence also on the countless psychotherapy clients of mine. Sylvia was so loving and loved so much in return.

John 6:40-"For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who recognizes the Son and exercises faith in him should have everlasting life, and I will resurrect him on the last day."
The bible promises that soon you will have the joy of seeing your loved one resurrected to live forever on a paradise earth where death will be no more, neither will pain and suffering.(Psalms 37:9-11,29; Revelation 21:3,4) What a wonderful day that will be! May this beautiful promise and many more, found in your family bible, bring you comfort and give you the strength to endure until our heavenly Father fulfills his word.

Sylvia was an inspiration to me. Her caring spirit and her always positive outlook made Christianity a living thing, not a cold, impersonal doctrine. I will always remember her emphasis on not losing the perspective of the church as a spiritual enterprise in its business meetings. I will miss Sylvia very much. The world was a better place wherever she was.

To the Family. SO sorry for your loss. Hope you will be comforted in knowing that Sylvia has the prospect of being resurrected (in the flesh) to Paradise Earth as God has promised. The vast majority will have everlasting life here on earth. God's Kingdom will do this under the Rulership of Jesus Christ. READ John 5:28, 29, Job 14:14, 15,Psalms 37:29 and Revelation 21:2-4

Sylvia had a wonderful light from within that she shared so graciously with all who knew her. My late husband, Jeff, and I were original members of Seekers at First Congregational Church. Seekers was a thought-provoking group that encouraged spiritual and personal growth. Whatever the setting, Sylvia generously shared her knowledge and supported church members during difficult times. She will be greatly missed.

Sylvia is the reason our group Exploring Spiritual Community was formed. She was always so gracious, loving, kind, caring and always had a calming effect on the group. She will be missed by all of us. We are so grateful for all she did for this group and as a result for all the close and wonderful friendships made.
