I studied Chemical Engineering with Leonard and two other close friends, Harvey Campbell and Lou Donghi, at the University of Texas. The four of us often studied together. We all were fortunate enough to make good grades and win highest honors. Upon graduation, Leonard, Lou, and Harvey all went to work for Celanese. I went into the Navy for two years. I had no contact with Leonard after that, and just decided to Google him, and came up with his obituary. Incidentally I did the same for Lou and Harvey and learned sadly that they also had passed. Leonard was a remarkable, although very quiet, person, and I was fortunate to have known and to have been associated with him

I am just seeing this obituary for the first time so I hope this will reach Len's family.
I live in St. Thomas, ON Canada and worked for the same company as Len, A. Schulman, Canadian division. I was part of the engineering group that met with Len annually in different locations.
What can I say that has not already been said? He was such a great guy. Gentleman, professional and fair. He didn't like coming up here especially during winter months. I remember him saying "when I see road signs that say bridge freezes before roads, I know I've gone too far north." He was always eager to get the next available flight back to Houston.
He had so many stories I could listen to him all day. I was amazed at his ability to continue to run marathons.
Incredible.
I hope this late condolence finds it's way to family and please except my sincere sympathy.
