Filip Vick Todaro, Sr. was born September 25, 1918 in Highbank, Texas and passed away at his home "The Farm" in Franklin, Texas on April 7, 2015 after a brief illness.
He was preceded in death by father and mother, Vic & Josephine; his wife of 55 years, Melba; daughter, Mary Therese; brothers, Tony, Nick, Joe Todaro; sisters, Mary Lombardo and Virginia Todaro; and son-in-law, Robert Garza.
He is survived by his daughter, Marie Garza of Houston, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Filip, Jr. and Charlene Todaro of Hempstead, Texas; grandchildren, David Nunez, Jr., Lisa Sambrooks and husband David, Gary Nunez and wife Robyn, Phil V. Todaro III, Tanya Noble and husband Chris, Brooke Marler and husband Keith, Michael Garza and wife Asha; twelve great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and a life time of numerous friends.
Filip was a proud World War II veteran, devoted husband, father and Paw-Paw. After his service in the Air Force, he became a successful grocery store owner in Houston and Hempstead before retiring to Franklin, Texas.
Paw-Paw lived life to the fullest up until the very end. He will be forever loved and dearly missed by all who knew him. We love you Daddy and Paw-Paw.
The family will receive guests beginning at 6:00 p.m., Monday, April 13, 2015, with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 14, 2015, followed by a reception with the family. All services will take place at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 6622 Haskell Street.
The Rite of Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale cemetery in Houston, Texas.
