I sure enjoyed the time that Paul and I shared genealogy and got to catch up on time lost. He was a very loving gentleman and will be very much missed. With the love that you had for him, with every time you miss and think of him, remember all the beautiful memories you have made. RIP PQ

I only knew Paul for a brief time at TC Energy. We had a pleasant relationship and I found him to be a knowledgeable and reliable coworker. He had a good sense of humor and of course, he was a devoted family man. I will miss him as many others will, knowing that he's at rest with Our Lord and Savior.

This picture is from one of our favorite memories with Paul, Andrea, Andrew and John. We were on a joint vacation at Sleeping Bear Resort near Traverse City, MI. We will always remember what a good man he was and how he loved his family so much. His lasting legacy will be what he taught all of us throughout his illness about faith, love and grace. Paul will be missed very much. May he rest in peace.
With sympathy and love, Marthe and John

Our time with Paul was very limited and started out as business. Later into our project together we sat around the kitchen table talking about some of the fun things he had done. Fun being solving problems or finding away to make something work better.
Paul provided me a tour of his home to determine the electrical demand he would have when he lost utility power. Describing some of the equipment he had designed to help assist he and Andrea through the day to day challenges he had. I was / am impressed with the unique ideas, Paul found solutions by mechanical goals. You would think he was an ENGINEER.
It is a shame that the human body is not more mechanical, because with time Paul would have found a remedy.
The elephant in the room was his health and the limitations it created but if you couldn't see the challenges you wouldn't know there were any. Paul's tenacity and strength were amazing. That strength was supported by Andrea and his Faith in God.
You can't beat a team like that.
I know that faith will also maintain Andrea and the kids through this time. Paul provided the template for a strong family and positive attitude through any adversity. Now all they have to do is dig in and follow his lead. Paul will be missed.

Paul and I worked at Transcanada USA for seven memorable years before I retired and he was in the early stage of illness. I was impressed that although educated as mechanical engineer, he evolved into the most skillful and knowledgeable automation engineer I have met. His explanations on the subject were like a classroom session. When Paul speaks, one listens. I continued to follow Paul's encounter with ALS, visiting him at his home, sharing our friendship and reminiscing over a Jasons box or BBQ lunch. I gradually paused from visiting to give him space, and was saddened to learn of Paul's passing. To his family Andrea, Andrew and John - Paul was so proud of you and expressed his pride in you always. His faith in God has earned him a place in Heaven where there is no more pain, only eternal joy and peace. I will miss him, but never forget him. To my dear friend Paul, may you Rest in Peace,

Jim and I first met Paul at an ALS support meeting. Jim instantly enjoyed being around him at the meetings. Paul was always filled with ideas and research he had done on the internet to discover aids for those afflicted with ALS. Before we went to meetings Jim would often comment - I wonder what new gadget Paul will tell us about this time!
Paul wanted to contribute to the lives of those facing the same disease as him. His kindness and generous spirit were always felt at the meetings.
He was never angry - he always had that beautiful smile and twinkle in his eyes. He was a shining example of not being bitter about the path one's life may take - instead he found good and reasons to smile as he went down his difficult road. I am sure he is whole again and with the Lord. Jim and I are so thankful Paul entered our lives. Knowing Paul makes us stronger as will follow his path.

Paul had the most besutiful strong tenor voice and when he was asked to lead a particular phrase, I was taken aback at the quality of the sound, I wanted him to sing more. And he was so fearless and brave hooked up to the computer as he was and working right up until the end, moving the computer with the blink of his eyes.
There has been a long standing tradition in the "traditional choir" that the men would dress up in blue suits looking their best to honor Christ's presense and for the most part that tradition of wearing our sunday best has been part of the Christian tradition all over the would. Well I noticed that Paul would often come, sans coat, and I thought to myself, we're giving the wrong impression to our congregation brothers and sisters. In my heart I was judging Paul. I later observed how he would be sweating as if under a hot sun and still later I learned of his overheating as a by-product of his illness.
I cried that in my heart I had judged him and so wanting to make it up to him I will continue to pray for the repose of his soul and his loving family and look forward to the time when we will be rejoined singing in the glory of Heaven. May God keep him and Andrea and their entire family in his love and mercy.

Paul was one of the most unique personalities I've ever encountered - superior intellect, grinding attention to detail, extremely quirky humor, always unassuming and mild mannered. I've never known anyone who was more proud of his family, and he shared his love of his sons and lovely Andrea with everyone he could.
I've thought of Paul often in the years since his illness took him away from TransCanada and have missed him a great deal. I look forward to seeing him again and catching up in a few years.
God's blessings and peace to Andrea and family.

Dear Andrea and Family,
It has been my privilege and honor to be part of Paul’s care team on Wednesdays for the past 9 months. During the time Paul was able to speak clearly enough for us to carry on a conversation, we discussed everything from politics to religion, love, life and death and everything in between. He often talked about you, Andrea and how lucky he was to have you in his life. And when he couldn’t get comfortable in his chair you always knew what to do. I got to know your beautiful family as I helped Paul scan old pictures of your wedding, your kids’ birthday parties and family gatherings.
I first met Paul when he joined the Prince of Peace traditional choir. He was a powerful voice in the tenor section. I, as well as many of the other tenors depended on Paul to “hit the right note” especially when we were sight reading a piece of music for the first time. Paul continued to come to practice and sing on Sundays even when he was having a hard time walking and he had not yet received a diagnosis of ALS.
We miss Paul in the choir. I miss him, especially on Wednesdays when I am home and know that I would normally be at your house caring for Paul.
God bless you and your family. May Paul rest in the loving arms of Jesus.
