I moved to New Orleans in May of 2006 in search of employment. I heard that the hurricane clean-up work in New Orleans would take ten years. I met John at the Ozanam Inn homeless shelter in New Orleans. John helped me get a job at a factory. John's help was invaluable to me. I was attempting to grt in touch with John for the first time in 14 years on facebook when someone else on facebook told me John had passed away. I am deeply saddened to find out that John died at the relatively young age of 49, but i was lucky to know John. I only lived in New Orleans for about 2 months until i moved to Maine, but John was the type of person i would never forget.
