Wini and I met in a Scripture Class at Corpus Christi shortly after she retired. We kept in contact weekly after that because
we sat in the same pew at the 5pm Mass each Saturday.
I remember being at the 5pm Mass the evening of Harvey's rain. We were both unconcerned and even commented
that we needed the rain. Wini said that her house never flooded until it did that night; and , she spent it on the
dining room table. It was really traumatic.
Upon her return from Wisconsin, I saw her again frequently at the 5pm Mass. Then, just a few weeks before she died,
I saw her at the grocery store and we made plans to catch up by my visiting her at the center, although, that didn't happen.
She was, indeed, a warm and kind person; and, I was fortunate to have known her, even if a little.
