It didn't take long after we first met to appreciate Bill's love for family and life. His face and eyes would light up every time he talked about the people in his life, their accomplishments and the time e spent with them. I've had the privilege to have known him for a little more than 10 years but I learned a lot over that time: his generosity had no bounds; his business acumen was exemplary; his care for employees and clients was second to none. I've come to appreciate his honesty, character and integrity in everything he ever did. He will be missed! Rest in peace, Bill!

Mr Van Pelt. Words can’t even begin to say how glad I am I came to know you working on your life insurance cases at AGL. You expected a lot and were an underwriters worse nightmare because you knew more than the underwriter did at times! You fought for your clients. You asked me to come to work for you. Scary but I made the move and found a strong, fair, generous man who as others have said loved his family and we who worked for him were part of the family. You will be missed and remembered forever. “The man is success who has lived life well, laughed often, and loved much; who has gained the respect of intelligent men and the love of children; who filled his niche and accomplished his task; who leaves the world better than he found it, who never lacked appreciation of earth’s beauty, or failed to express it; who looked for the best in others and gave the best he had; his memory is a benediction.” This was Bill Van Pelt, III. One of the kindest, greatest bosses I've ever work for. Rest in peace Bill.

I met Bill through the Holland Society of New York. It was an honor to know this man along with his wife Maureen and family. His obituary read beautifully! I thoroughly enjoyed reading more about him than I knew!
Our hearts and prayers go out to the Van Pelt family and we are sorry that covid will prevent us from celebrating his life with them. Bill left a legacy in the Van Pelt Family and I am confident his family will remain strong with all of the many values he instilled in them. He certainly showed me that Family is important as well!

I never met Bill but Patrick means so much to our family and I can only imagine he got much of his heart and values from his Dad. In knowing Patrick, I know Bill was a great man. Sending love to the whole family. Warmly, Carey Unger

I’m gerald bills neighbor. He was great man, a great husband, great father and grandfather. He would often tell me stories about his family and his face would light up as he would be telling me about his family. Bill would make me smile often though he never knew he did. Living next door to him I would hear him fire up that corvette and I knew he was going to go for a ride and I would sit in my living room and just grin ear to ear knowing he was fixing to do something he loved to do and that was take spin in that corvette. We often talk about that car and he would just boast about it. I know he is heaven right now with the top down cruising around with a smile on his face. Bill you were more than kind to me and my two girls. You are a man of honor , respect and unwavering loyalty to the people you loved. You sir are what what men should model themselves after and you will be missed dearly by everyone including the Ojemann’s May your Corvette never run out of gas and the sky stay blue so u can ride with the top down. Love loyalty and respect Gerald Harley and Nina

Mr. Vanpelt was a great neighbor and a thoughtful man, for the short time I knew him, you could just tell he has done great things and made so many people happy. I was blessed enough to see this when he gave me my first car, this gift was more than just a car. It was message to me that he was proud of me and the fact that he even thought to give that to me is beyond generous. He had and will always have a good heart, there is a special place in heaven for him and I will always remember his kind heart. I will miss him dearly, he will always be loved by my family.
