I always begged JoAnn to take a trip with me, but I preferred the beach, and she liked the mountains, plus she absolutely wouldn't fly, which made me crazy. But I was excited that we did take a cruise together from Galveston to Cozumel. She participated in so many activities on the ship - and she actually won a game show event where she was up on stage in front of an auditorium full of people and answered like trivia or jeopardy questions, she was the last person standing and won a Ship on a Stick! Which is exactly what it sounds like... a little cardboard ship stuck to a popsicle stick. We laughed about that a lot.
I'm especially sad now that I don't have my pictures from that trip. My old school camera malfunctioned and my phone wasn't working (maddening). But I was amazed by the guts she had to be up there playing the game. I couldn't have done that in a million years. She was fun that way. We had a good time, and I wish we could do more.
Love you and miss you JoAnn.

Tony and I are so sorry for the loss of Joann. You all are in our thoughts and prayers. I only met Joann a couple of times, after marrying into the Luprete family, and she was always so pleasant, happy, and outgoing. Her smile was infectious and lit up the room. And I was friends with her on Facebook and always smiled whenever I saw her posts, especially about her grandkids. Those usually made me laugh out loud. Was so easy to see she was a wonderful grandmother who adored her grandkids. We are sending prayers of comfort and strength for you all.
Our deepest sympathy,
Tony and Stacie Luprete

I loved how her face lit up when she talked about her grandsons. I think they were the largest part of her world. She is united now with Vita and Donald and forever a guardian angel for Ace and Aiden.

Even though I have only known Joann for the last couple of years working for Spectrum at FFC, we became friends almost instantly. I always enjoyed working with her. She was a joy and will be surely missed. My deepest sympathies to her family..

So sorry for the loss of such a great friend as Joann was in my life, I was honored to know both her and Donald as well, she was such a lifesaver for my 50th Birthday Party when she catered it for me, everyone loved everything she made that night, I will always be in debt for that act of kindness on her part. Upon the passing of Donald, I always felt that he had a hand in the two of us meeting later in life afterwards as I never knew her before as our paths had never crossed, I am a better person for meeting her today in life. Forever in my thoughts and prayers. Peace to you and your family.
