I was so saddened to hear of Rick's passing! I came to know him through the St Thomas Alumni fundraiser casino parties over the years. He and his classmates always sat at my Blackjack table and regaled me with stories of their time at St. Thomas. Rick and I stayed in touch through emails and he would often show up at other casino parties we held. He was the nicest, kindest man and all of us at Las Vegas Nights will miss him greatly!

Many fond memories of Rick from St Thomas days. He took it upon himself to be our point man; our "watchman on the wall," keeping the entire graduating class of '63 up to date on all things St Thomas, via email, since the inception of the Internet. He will be sorely missed in many ways. Prayers of comfort going up for Peggy and his his entire family. Phillip Valenti

There will never be another person like Rick. I so enjoyed our friendship during our time working at Halliburton and even after he retired. My heart goes out to Peggy and the rest of the family. I know his family was his pride and joy. My sincere condolences.

Peggy and family, my sincerest condolences to you all after the loss of Rick. While we did not know each other well in high school I very much appreciated the many email conversations we had through the years as Rick was kind enough to keep all of his STHS ‘63 classmates well informed of our fellow classmates various struggles with their health, and ask for prayers. I know I speak for his classmates in telling you that our collective heartfelt prayers are with Rick and you now. I will be surely remembering Rick in our daily mass prayer book here in Austin at St. Mary’s .....Jeff Burns ‘63

My condolences to Peggy, Rick, Steve and the rest of the Parsons family. I had the honor to have known Mr. Parsons since going to St Thomas High School with Rick.
From the hunting trips to Grapeland, spending time at the Parsons house during high school and of course learning a tip or two on on preferred driving habits in Houston--I have nothing but great memories of Richard. He was great husband, father and devout Catholic.
Look forward to seeing the family at the services in Houston.
God Bless you all and God Bless Richard.
