I have known Benson for a number of years. We worked at John Dickinson together and maintained contact for quite some years after. Benson was an outstanding individual whose life was based on strong values and principles. It was an honour knowing him. Blessings to his wife Esther and the rest of his family.

My deepest condolences to the entire Douglas family. I am so sorry for your loss. I remember meeting Mr. Benson and Mrs. Esther via my sister and brother-in-love (Bhall and Keisha Nandalal) and thinking they were one of the most fun, loving couples I had ever seen....like the real-life Huxtables :-) I was only blessed to be around them a few times, but I remember those beautiful smiles and laughter. I hope those sweet memories and endless fun and laughter will bring all of you some joy and comfort in the days and months ahead. Mr. Benson is no longer here with you in the physical form, but he'll always be with you in heart. What a beautiful family....no greater legacy!! Please take good care of each other and keep his memory alive by loving God, loving family and living each day to the fullest. Sending prayers and tight hugs to each of you....

As a little boy growing up I always felt the kindness of Benson's presence then as I grew older i was always puzzled of how cool and calm he was even to cope with the stress that his job as a customs clerk carried, was said by Reynold Roberts his children should be very proud their dad, for those who do know know Benson was at one time the fastest gun draw on television and I wanted to be just like him ,Benson Douglas you have touched many lives in a most positive way I pray that your family receive the strength and support to cope in this difficult time .

Going to their home, drinking juice, eating, playing and hanging out with Lizanne are memories that are etched in my mind and heart. Uncle Benson was such a supportive and motivating force at the pool and training. I will always remember him as a teddy bear with a huge smile and how much he loved his family. Benson was s one in a life time brother/friend. He was a true example of a "Good Neighbour." Looking back I see the acolyte, the cowboy, and friend. He was a true exemplar and lived his life as close to God's commandments as possible. He was strong and argumentative with Custom Official when making his case, leaving them shaking their heads, having been educated. His children have big shoes to fill, but a Benson Cecil Douglas, can never be replaced. Rest in Peace, Dear Brother, I will hold you in my heart, until I can hug you in heaven.

Our deepest condolences to the Douglas family. We came to know Benson over forty years ago. Both our children swam competitively at the YMCA and the Flying Fish Swim Club where Benson was also a Senior swim coach. We became a family during that time and Benson was referred to as Uncle Benson to all. He had a passion for excellence and growth for the children which he showed interest and love in their progress. Even after Benson retired, we always made contact with his family and even spent time during the holiday season celebrations. This continued even after moving to Houston. Benson will surely be missed especially for his contribution to the swimming fraternity.
May His Soul Rest in Peace!
To his dear wife Esther and children, Tricia, Lizanne and Dwayne we know its not easy losing a husband and a dad..but we do know that He is in a very good place with the Lord..and all the fun memories will fill your hearts with love, laughter and great memories of him.
Stay blessed in Jesus Name!

Benson loved riped mangoes and sugar apples. I could recall when he visited St. Vincent and the Grenadines he would say to me, "We going after those juicy mangoes today, right"?. My mum (his aunt...now deceased) used to say, "Boy, when you going Trindad (not Trinidad) remember to carry Benson ripe mango and sugar apple". When I arrived, he would say, "Brother, I hope you bring sugar apples..."
I know you loved your aunt. She is waiting for you in heaven. Continue to sleep in peace, cuz.

The wonderful times of a genuine man showing love and care, causing you to feel complete comfort because he would have touched your heart and soul by simply being himself, whatever discussion you would have with Benson and before his advice he would say (true, oh shims, ) then he would call, Esther. but i loved our countless evenings of table tennis which was great fun and a good bond, not forgetting how much he wanted me to play gulf with him which i did, you treated me like a son, I couldn't ask for a better friend like you, RIP you have a permanent place in hearts of my entire family and mine.

Memories of Hilton Trinidad Sunday Brunch Feb 2019 birthday celebration . Good food and loads of laughter , Benson always kept us entertained.
Don’t think of him as gone away
his journey’s just begun,
life holds so many facets
this earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting
from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.
Think how he must be wishing
that we could know today
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.
And think of him as living
in the hearts of those he touched…
for nothing loved is ever lost
and he was loved so much.
Peace , comfort , strength and courage be with each of you , Jim , Sherry and Aidan - UK

My husband, my children and I would like to extend our sincerest condolences to the Douglas family during this difficult time. I have known Mr. Benson Douglas for over 20 years and worked with him for 11 years at the Customs Brokerage.
He was always a very kind and genuine person, always happy, willing to help others and loved to make jokes. He always had everyone laughing.
He was also very passionate and dedicated to his work, working day and night at times just to ensure that the job gets done and he was a huge stickler for neatness: he wouldn't hire anyone unless they had a neat handwriting and he would actually ask them to write something during the interview, lol.
An amazing, fun loving individual who had an enormous love for his wife and his children and a great appreciation for everyone he came into contact with. He will definitely be missed. I’m so happy that I was able to help with the company these last 8 months so that Tricia could have spent some valuable time with him. RIP Mr. Douglas.

My heart goes out to the Douglas family as the world has lost both a gentle and loving person. He will be missed having been a pioneer in the field of Customs Brokerage with a comprehensive understanding of the work and perfect recall.
He has left is mark with many by virtue of his generosity, his upright nature and his faith God. I recall seeing him walking around and reading his Bible regularly which was always good to see.
I have many memories with Benson apart from his overt affection to his wife, all of his children and grand children. However what stands out the most is his rendition of "We are family" with his signature shuffle. RIP Benson you have touched many hearts and lives. Much love Christian Rose
