Benson Cecil Douglas, age 73, retired Customs Broker of 59 Eligon Avenue, Diego Martin, Trinidad, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 20, 2021, surrounded by family at Sugarland Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas.
Benson was preceded in death by his parents, Avis Douglas and Basil Coombs; and his sister, Daris Douglas.
He is survived by his loving wife, Esther; his children, Benson Douglas, Jr., Tricia Douglas, Lizanne Douglas, and Dwayne Douglas; his grandchildren, Sophie Douglas, Gabriel Mulhern, Benson Douglas III, Lynneah Baldwin, Emmie Baldwin and Elle Douglas Lake-Nestor; his siblings, Sherrill Douglas and Ritson Douglas, Jenny Gun-Munro, Wendy Minors, Margot Coombs and Kenny Coombs; his nieces and nephews, Diana, Cherylynn, Charmaine, Patricia, Kemba, Amanda, Kelsey, Kara, Ricky, Shawn, Steven, Riston Jr., Ricardo, Craig, Alex, Kent, Chad, Luke, Kody.
Benson was also a devoted and loyal friend of the McComie family, Pastor Maharaj and family, Amar Samaroo, Ray Farnum (deceased) and family, Lloyd Andrews and family, George Haloute and family, Allen Belasco and family, Stephen Aboud and family, Diane Van De Meer, Stephen Lake Nestor and family, Emily Meyers and Family, Janeen Douglas and family, and Eileen Mulhern and family and many more.
Benson leaves us all bereft. We are certain he is with the Lord in heaven about his father’s business.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: the former things are passed away – Revelation 21:4.
A funeral service honoring the life of Benson Douglas will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Joseph J. Earthman Generations, 234 Westcott Street in Houston, Texas.
