Dear Margaret, Alex, Florence, Marielle, Marc-Antoine and the rest of the family. Please accept my deepest condolences for your tragic and all too sudden loss of Arnaud. I know how life often can make turns that are hard to understand, but I can only imagine the grief and sorrow that you all must feel now. I hope you find solace in each other and the warm memories of your time with him.
After getting to know you many years ago and reading about his life today, there’s no question that Arnaud left a mark on this world and the family he and Margaret raised together. While I know that Norway has a special place in your life, you all made sure that my time in America will always have a special place in mine.
Take care of each other, cherish the memories and continue on in his spirit.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you here on the other side of the Atlantic.
Marius.

I hardly remember a time when the Pichons were not a part of my life. Many of my best childhood memories revolved around the Pichons and the “Pichon babies” whether it be Norway, France, Scotland, or Houston. Though life and schedules have kept us apart in recent years, we have always considered you family. The world is darker for having lost someone as special as Mr. Arnaud. What an amazing man he was. We love you always.

Dear family and friends of Arnaud,
Please accept my condolences and deepest sympathies. I met Arnaud through work, where quickly realized how brilliant a geoscientist and most friendly person he was. It was hard to impossible to find a more enthusiastic, dedicated, and thoughtful colleague, very honest and sincere in expressing his views, and at the same time opened for truly genuine friendship. I will always cherish the memories of my friend Arnaud, a wise and incredible human being!

In Nov 2015, Arnaud and family hosted me for my first ever thanksgiving dinner in Houston. I had just moved to HTX for graduate school and didn’t really know if I belonged here in TX.
Arnaud, upon discovering I was a Biology major, shared his passion for nature and his love for exploring our blue marble - Earth.
We shared wonderful short stories of our hometowns and the family we have left behind to start a new life here. Over the course of half a day of thanksgiving dinner, he had convinced me that HTX is exactly where I wanted to be.
Words will never be able to express the gratitude I feel for Arnaud and rest of Pichon family for making me always feel like I am one of their own.
Thank you Arnaud for your wonderful kindness and I hope you find peace in afterlife.

Dear family of the incomparable Arnaud. I did not know him. I am a friend and colleague of Courtney Isaak. I will meet many of you at Alex's and Courtney's wedding. But I think I missed the opportunity of a lifetime in not meeting Arnaud. What a hole in your hearts this must leave. Such a big human leaves us even more bereft in his or her wake when they leave us. This was an extraordinary obituary.
I look forward to meeting you in September and please know I hold you all dear to my heart as you walk this next leg of your journey as a family.

To Margaret, Alexander, Florence, Marielle, and Marc-Antoine,
Arnaud was a wonderful man. He was a great husband, father, and friend. I have prayed the Office for the Dead, a rosary, offered Mass last night at St Peter's Church, DeLand, FL, and had a prayer group of 15 pray for his soul. I send my sympathy to all of you and know that you too are remembered in prayers.

Arnaud cut such a striking figure on the beach at Mansion House in Naples, outfitted in his rash guard, swim trunks and big watch. He reminded me of the suave, adventurous spokesman for Dos Eqis beer and soon I was jokingly borrowing their tongue in cheek campaign slogan to refer to him as … “The Most Interesting Man in the World.”
This photo and Florence’s beautifully written description are proof positive the phrase was aptly applied to Arnaud.
Cheers to a life well lived!

Arnaud was a neighbor and a friend, a fellow geologist and we understood each other well. Always walking the dogs in the evening and stopping to see Sydney. I have so.much respect for initiating the Porch Series from his new home in the Heights to help musicians who were severely impacted during the pandemic. His fight during his Covid infection was amazing and his recovery even more.
I will miss Arnaud and our family will miss him and we all pray for him and the family.
