Obituary of George Lawrence Ryan

George L, Ryan, 51, beloved husband for 10 years to Karyn Ryan (nee Kuznieski).  Devoted father to Payton and Colton.  Cherished son of Patrick J. Sr. and Katherine (nee Cote) Ryan.  Much loved brother of Patrick J. (Kim) Ryan Jr. and proceeded in death by his sister Katherine M. Ryan.  Fun “Uncle Jungle” to Katie (Dominic) Lange, Patrick J. III, Sgt. Michael (Rachel) and John Ryan. Great Uncle to Caleb Ryan.  Treasured Son-in-law to Walter and Margaret (nee Meek) Kuznieski; Loving nephew, brother-in-law and friend.

George was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School (class of 88), Michigan State University (Class of 92) and received his Masters from Northern Illinois University.  George was an avid sports fanatic who loved the outdoors (fishing, boating, camping, and hunting), cheering on his MSU Spartans, Blackhawks, Bears and White Sox.  George was a very proud father and his sons’ biggest fan who enjoyed coaching their sports.   There isn’t much he enjoyed more than family time with his wife Karyn and his two sons.  George was a Senior Director of Finance (Operations Controller) but his true passion was cooking, you could always count on him to turnout some amazing food. 

George truly lived life to the fullest, loved with all his heart and never really met a stranger.  George was like a dad if you needed a dad.  A best friend if you needed a best friend.  A brother if you needed a brother.  Nothing was ever about him, always putting those he loved and cared about first.  He was always up for a good time and most often the life of the party.  George had the most amazing smile that made you just want to smile back.  George was truly loved by all who knew him and will forever be loved and missed.

A funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Friday, September 17, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Church, 134 Arthur St, Elmhurst, IL 60126

Followed by, An “Open House/Come and Go” Celebration of Life from 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m., Friday, September 17, 2021 at Gatto’s Restaurant, 8005 183rd St, Tinley Park, IL 60487
