Our Mother was a grandmother to 27 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Our Mother attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic School in Rosenberg, TX. She worked at Anne’s Dress Shop in Downtown Rosenberg, TX. The owner and her supervisor was the wife of the Mayor of Rosenberg. Our Mother’s wedding dress was from Foley’s Department Store in Downtown Houston, TX. During her bridal appointment she was asked if she would allow Foley’s to feature and photograph her in her wedding dress for the Foley’s Bridal Catalog.
Our Mother devoted her entire life to her family and had an extraordinary commitment to her faith. She was gifted with a special grace, a kind spirit and a pure heart. Our Mother praised and welcomed all who crossed her path. In her quiet humility she leaned on God to guide her. Her legacy was to always turn to God in all aspects of life.
Our Mother was a hidden soul, salt of the earth, an eternal presence on earth. Her ways were of infinite forgiveness, compassion and total surrender to the cross and God’s trials. Her number one prayer for souls was that of Saint Junipero Serra, “I pray God may preserve your health and life.” Our Mother surrendered everything without reservation to the Lord. Her belief in life was that charity and humility opens all good doors. There was no despair in all her sufferings and daily struggles in life. She made the most of every precious moment through love and hope for everyone. She gave tremendous love and was ever grateful for the vocation of marriage. It was her honor what God had called her to do. She knew her soul was handmade from divinity, and her words always were, “Ask Jesus”. Her actions were of simplicity rooted in deep spirituality. Her life seemed so easy for her, she had the faith and courage to carry her cross through a life devoted to the “Mother of God through the Rosary”. My mother’s life, legacy, and story are truly that of a Saint. Now she is loving us even more.
She was a member of the following; Archdiocese of Galveston, Houston, Legions of Mary and the Sisters of Charity, Sacred Heart Passionists Sisters of Merciful Jesus.
