Obituary of William H. Skinner

Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

William H. “Bill” Skinner, born January 21, 1951 in Havana, Cuba to William Harvey Skinner, Sr. and Margarita Penenori, died on Sunday, January 9, 2022, in The Woodlands, Texas.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Mrs. Carol Skinner of Spring; his daughters, Lieutenant Commander Lauren Mayo, JAGC, USN, and her husband, Commander Jordan Mayo, USN of Virginia Beach and Mrs. Kimberly Pierce, and her husband, Mr. Luke Pierce of Austin; his mother, Mrs. Margarita Skinner of Spring; and his three grandchildren, Margaret Mayo, Rose Mayo, and David Pierce.

Bill graduated from Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and received a commission in the United States Army Reserve as a Second Lieutenant in 1972.  He earned his M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York in 1974.  After he obtained his Professional Engineer License, he worked in a variety of fields before founding his own engineering consulting firm, KL Services, LLC.

A lifetime learner, he loved learning new languages and provided ad hoc tutoring services to any friend or potential dating partner of either of his two now happily married daughters.  A competitive weightlifter in his youth, he continued to pursue his passion and was a daily member of the Shadowbend YMCA in The Woodlands.  He would often be seen in the weight room doing more reps than seemed humanly possible.  A proud grandfather, he never missed an opportunity to dance in the living room with his grandkids. His memory lives on in those that know and love him.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 21, 2022 at Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, 26777 Glen Loch Drive, The Woodlands, Texas 77381. Donations in his memory may be made to The Woodlands Family YMCA at Shadowbend. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Lauren-Mayo2. A heartfelt thank you to all the responding EMTs and to the emergency room professionals at Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital.
