Obituary of Gerry Wayne Mattern

Gerry Wayne Mattern, born October 14, 1964 to Rosalie and Reinhard Mattern, died peacefully after a long illness on March 13, 2022 in Houston, Texas.

Gerry was preceded in death by his mother, Rosalie Mattern; father, Reinhard Mattern; brothers, John Boy Mattern, and his twin brother, Terry Mattern. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Lori; his children, Christie Archer and Tammy Archer; grandchildren, Emma Crawford and Avery Crawford; brother, Glen Mattern and his wife, Terri, and Marvin Mattern; sister, Deborah Sammons; nieces and nephews, Bryan Mattern and his wife, Tara, Michelle Mims, Tad Kresta and his wife, Leta, Kristin Kresta, and Pricilla Munoz and her husband, Christopher; and great-nieces and nephews, Bryan Mattern, Jr., Corbin Moudry, Kendall Moudry, Aiden Kresta, Grayson Kresta, Jadyn Munoz, Ava Munoz, Ariel Palmer, Ember Palmer, and Nick Miller.

A visitation with the family will begin at 5:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Joseph J. Earthman Generations, 234 Westcott Street in Houston, Texas.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 17, 2022 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 8227 Cr205, in Plantersville, Texas.  The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
