During one of our talks with Dad, he told us he had to get his uniform ready for a “retirement” & that he had heard the sounds of the bugle. Turned out he was talking about his retirement from this earth which coincided with his youngest son’s, Patrick, Coast Guard retirement back in 2013. September 1st now holds even more significance for our family.

Best uncle ever. Thank you for all the life lessons. Rest peacefully. You will live on in my memories. And the card game we invented this year. This was the last volleyball game we had for his birthday a few years back. And celebrating his 77th birthday June 30th. He finished with a pair of 7’s
