Gregory Anthony Thompson of Houston, Texas passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Greg was born on September 12, 1954, to Thomas Calvin Thompson and Minnie Claire Thompson (nee Longino) in Winnfield, Louisiana.  After he graduated from Byrd High School in Shreveport, he went on to attend Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana.  He worked in the oil and gas industry for over 40 years in Louisiana and Texas, beginning with United Gas Pipeline Company and retiring from TC Energy in October 2020, having worked with many other small and large companies as well along the way.

Greg loved God, family and friends.  He was kind and generous and he never met a stranger—he loved chit-chatting and making new friends.  He had a great sense of humor and loved to amuse his family and friends with his stories and jokes.  He loved football and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan from an early age.  He also loved fishing, especially fishing for crappie at Caddo Lake in Louisiana.  When relaxing at home, he enjoyed watching educational programs such as Nature and NOVA on PBS.  He also liked This Old House and other D-I-Y shows.  In addition, Greg was also passionate about animals, and especially loved cats.  He leaves behind his sweet little girl cat, Kacie, that will sure miss her Mr. Greg.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents, T. C. and Minnie Claire.  He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 42 years, Epifania (Eppy) H. Thompson and his three brothers, Tommy Thompson and wife Shane Duggar, Mooringsport, LA; David Thompson and wife Linda, Blanchard, LA; Marty Thompson and wife Sheila, Benton, LA; and sister Rose Attaway and husband Steve, Shreveport, LA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and longtime friends.
